Free tax-preparation help

Free income-tax preparation is available at Santa Fe Community College now until April 17 through a partnership of the city of Santa Fe, the federal Internal Revenue Service and other organizations.

The mayor and City Council support the program, which provides a valuable service free of charge to low- to moderate-income working families, seniors and students, according to a statement from City Hall.

To be eligible for this free service, one of the following criteria must be met:
  • Your household income is less than $39,500.
  • You are a senior.
  • You are a Santa Fe Community College student, faculty or staff member.
  • You are a city or public-school employee.
This free service will be offered in the Santa Fe Community College West Atrium -- Room 313 -- from 9 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturdays through April 17. Free tax preparation service through this program also is being offered from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at New Mexico Taxation and Revenue, 1200 S. St. Francis Drive.
